New Drug Approvals for Smallpox/Monkey Pox, Type 2 Diabetes

he USFDA has approved Jynneos for the prevention of smallpox and monkeypox for adults 18 years of age and older who are at high risk for smallpox or monkeypox infection. Jynneos is a MVA-BN�, liquid-frozen injection. Jynneos is the only approved non-replicating smallpox vaccine in the U.S. and the only approved monkeypox vaccine anywhere in the world. Jynneos is approved for use broadly, including in people with weakened immune systems and those with eczema or with household members with eczema. The safety of the drug is evaluated in small-pox na�ve healthy adults, adults previously vaccinated with a smallpox vaccine, and in adults with conditions like HIV and atopic dermatitis. The most common adverse reactions reported are injection site reactions like pain redness, swelling, systemic adverse reactions like muscle pain, headache, fatigue, nausea, myalgia, and chills.
