With businesses reopening, controlling the spread of the virus in air-conditioned spaces was urgent and considered smart. The research suggested that the virus remained in the air for about 3 hours and filtering the air seemed like a better plan. In collaboration with a few other scientists, researchers from the University of Houston have designed a catch and kill air filter that can trap the virus responsible for COVID-19, killing it instantly. The researchers have reported that the virus tests at the Galveston National Laboratory found 99.8% of the novel SARS-CoV-2, was killed in a single go-through the filter made from the available nickel foam which was heated to 200 degrees Centigrade(392 degrees Fahrenheit).
