Detect if the router is connected to an existing network or gateway. Once NETGEAR genie detects the presence of an existing network, it allows you to configure the Nighthawk router in access point (AP) mode or router mode. You can also use Nighthawk router as extender and non-NETGEAR router as default router. Note: Configuring your Netgear router as an extender (wireless repeater) does not enable important routing features such as network traffic management.
