The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides direct funding to individuals with disabilities to access the support and services that they need to live a meaningful and independent life. Once an individual becomes an NDIS participant, the NDIS works closely with them to develop a personalised plan that aligns with the needs and goals of the participant. Participants can understand their plan and use it effectively with the help of a Support Coordinator. While accessing NDIS supports like Short-Term Accommodation, including respite, support coordinators can connect the participants with efficient STA service providers whose services best suit the needs of the participants. Short-Term Accommodation, including respite (STA), is funded through the Core Supports budget and it enables the participants to stay at a place away from their home. It allows both the participant and their carers to take a short break from their normal routine and rejuvenate their minds.
