Providing quality care and disability assistance in rural and remote areas of the country can be quite challenging for service providers. But the NDIS has made it possible for people with disabilities in rural and remote Australia, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, to access various support and services through its Rural and Remote Strategy which was developed in 2016. As a result of this initiative, 6664 individuals with disabilities living in extremely remote areas were getting NDIS support as of March 31, 2021. Plan Management is an NDIS-funded support that can help participants to make the most of their NDIS plan, wherever they live. It helps the participants to manage and monitor their NDIS funds as well as ensure timely payment of their service provider invoices with expert assistance from plan managers. One of the main challenges for rural and remote participants is connecting with the NDIS services.
