Plan Guard23 Oct, 2022Health

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides funding for people with disabilities to access the supports and services they require to meet their disability needs and help them work towards their goals in life. The NDIS funding is based on what is ?reasonable and necessary? for the participants to achieve those goals. Three types of support budgets can be funded in a participant?s NDIS plan: Core Supports budget, Capacity Building budget and Capital Supports budget. Core Supports budget The Core Supports budget in the NDIS plan helps the participants to carry out their daily activities and provides assistance with tasks that helps them make progress towards their NDIS goals. Core Supports budget is mostly flexible. Therefore, the participants can use the funding of one support category to pay for another if both the supports are Core Supports.
