Disability support systems are designed to empower people with disabilities and equip them with the skills and knowledge necessary for them to lead a life that they have always envisioned for themselves. Disability support helps people with disabilities to achieve their goals and become independent in life. The Core Supports funded in an NDIS plan is a perfect example of this. These supports assist the participants with their everyday activities and thereby help them make significant progress towards their NDIS goals. There are four support categories in the Core Supports budget. They are Assistance with Daily Life, Consumables, Assistance with Social and Community Participation and Transport. The main advantage of Core Supports funding is that it is flexible and the participant can move their funding across the Core Support categories depending on their needs.
