Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) are medical conditions that are not transmitted from person to person. Unlike infectious diseases, NCD develop slowly over time and often have long durations. They are typically caused by a combination of genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors. Common examples include cardiovascular diseases, cancer, chronic respiratory diseases, and diabetes. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), NCDs are responsible for 71% of all global deaths.
