The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Governor Abdullahi Sule, was declared the winner of the gubernatorial election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Angry at the election results, the women took to the streets to protest, claiming they did not vote for Sule. The women scoffed at INEC?s declaration of Sule as the election winner, despite disagreements over the results from Gayam and Ciroma electoral wards in the state capital.
