Mahendra Singh Dhoni was inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame on June 9, 2025, during a prestigious ceremony held at London’s iconic Abbey Road Studios. He became the 11th Indian cricketer to receive this honor, joining a distinguished group of inductees that includes Matthew Hayden, Daniel Vettori, Hashim Amla, Sana Mir, Graeme Smith, and Sarah Taylor. The cricketing fraternity celebrated the moment with admiration and praise. BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla hailed him as the “most deserving player” for the recognition. He expressed his deep gratitude, calling it “a wonderful feeling” and “something I will cherish forever.” Former coach Ravi Shastri added a humorous touch, lauding his quick reflexes behind the stumps. This milestone highlights a legendary career that saw Dhoni lead India to triumphs in the 2007 T20 World Cup, the 2011 ODI World Cup, and the 2013 Champions Trophy, while redefining the role of a modern-day finisher and wicketkeeper.
