Clinical trials are built on trust, trust in the protocol, the investigators, and, most crucially, the data. Patient-reported outcomes (PROs) are at the heart of this trust, offering an unfiltered window into the patient’s experience. Yet, for decades, the industry has struggled with the limitations of traditional data collection: recall bias, transcription errors, lost diaries, and the ever-present risk of “parking lot syndrome”—when patients hastily complete days’ worth of entries just before a visit.
