Multi Jet Fusion (MJF) & Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) are powder bed fusion types used in industrial 3D printing. MJF 3d printing process and sintering work by fusing (or sintering) layers of polymer powder particles under heat. The source of heat is the primary distinction between these two methods. Laser scanning and sintering (SLS) is used to create each cross-section. However, MJF applies a special ink (fusing agent) to the powder to absorb infrared light. The ink on the build platform is cured by an infrared radiation beam that the printer passes over it. MJF is essentially a hybrid of SLS and Binder Jetting.
