Medical Education in Russia: Is It Worth Studying Medicine Abroad?

The government of Russia cut the subsidy of nearly 60% for the MBBS courses in Russian medical Universities. The average MBBS fee in Russia is between 3 Lacs to 5 Lacs per year. In Russia, Medical education is conducted through 10 years full-time Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). The process for admission to MBBS is rigorous. The admission process consists of three rounds of medical entrance exams held separately by medical institutes. Students are allowed to choose their medical speciality from the third round of examinations. The medical students do a mandatory year of training in a 3-6 month internship. There is also a one-year fellowship or training program in one of the reputed hospitals or clinics after medical graduation.
