The process of extrusion begins with placing raw plastic into the machine's hopper. Thereafter, it is forced through a heated barrel driven by screw mechanics so that it melts. Once melted, the plastic takes on the form required when it exits the die. The formed material then cools, often using water or air, and is then trimmed to the desired length. This helps to ensure rapid and efficient production of plastic products, hence the need for mass production by extrusion machines.
