Matthew Joseph West, an American contemporary Christian musician, singer-songwriter, and actor. He was born on April 25, 1977 and raised in a Downers Grove, Illinois, in the United States. Illinois, where he first became aware of music. He was raised in the front pew, listening to his minister mother sing harmony, and imitating her actions. Baseball and music were Matthew West's two great passion. He continued to play baseball throughout high school, serving as team captain in his final year. Although he played baseball competitively in high school. He was never able to secure a baseball scholarship for college. Instead, he was given a four-year music scholarship to Millikin University in Illinois.
