Riaz Malik further prolonged his real-estate business and developed several gated communities in cities like Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad during the 2000s which included a total area of 45,000 square acres to be developed .By the year 2003, Bahria got over 60,000 employees on board, which further made it the largest private employer in Pakistan. On the other side, Bahria Town Karachi, also owned by Malik Riaz, has been quoted as one of the biggest private projects in the Asian region.
