The composite long rod insulator, also known as: composite insulator or non-porcelain insulator, is a polymer insulator composed of at least two insulating parts, namely a core body and a jacket equipped with metal accessories. Long rod composite insulators are mainly used for suspension cables in linear supports and tension chords in anchor towers and dead-end towers. They are also used for jumpers or entrances in outdoor substations.
