A cheque is said to have bounced or is dishonored when the bank returns the cheque presented for payment due to insufficient funds in the issuer?s account or other reasons. The other reasons for a bounced cheque include expired validity of cheques, overwriting, presentation of a damaged or unclear cheque, mismatch of the issue?s signature, accounting errors, and intentional fraud.
