TOC thinking aims to build a smooth operational process without any extra steps or unnecessary wastages. The TOC management process begins first by identifying the different sub-parts of the operational system- supply chain, inventory, production, shipping, etc. Consultants carefully start to comb through each and every single sub-part. They identify roadblocks or constraints and then subtly manoeuvre the constraints into advantages for the business. In the end, that company gets a seamless system of operations that does not waste man-hours or finances. But the TOC process has to be applied repeatedly to retain this level of operational performance. Otherwise, over time new constraints will again become entrenched into the system.
