The first ODI between India and Sri Lanka produced some exciting cricket in the first half at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. After winning the toss, newly-appointed skipper Dasun Shanaka opted to bat first on Sunday. A new-look opening combination of Avishka Fernando and Minod Bhanuka got the hosts off to a steady start with the score reading 49/0 in 9 overs. This is when India's captain Shikhar Dhawan introduced spin for the first time in the match and Yuzvendra Chahal got the crucial breakthrough on the very first delivery. A few overs later, Kuldeep Yadav also got into the action as he took two quick wickets to put Sri Lanka on the backfoot. The third spinner for Men in Blue - Krunal Pandya had also been brought into the attack and he also produced a moment in the match that left the fans in splits.
