Know when is Rishi Panchami, how to do worship?

The Panchami of the Shukla Paksha of the month of Bhadrapada is called Rishi Panchami. The traditional worship of the seven sages is performed on this day. The names of the seven sages are - Rishi Kashyapa, Rishi Atri, Rishi Bharadwaj, Rishi Vishwamitra, Rishi Gautam, Rishi Jamadagni and Rishi Vashishtha. In some parts of Kerala, this day is also celebrated as Vishwakarma Puja. In this fast people pay respect, gratitude and remembrance to the great deeds of the ancient sages who dedicated their lives for the welfare of the society.
