The Kedarkantha Trek is an easy-to-moderate adventure that suits both first-time and seasoned trekkers. Counted among the most popular winter treks in Uttarakhand, it reaches a maximum altitude of about 12,500 ft (3,810 m). From the Kedarkantha summit, trekkers are rewarded with sweeping views of the Himalayas, including Mt. Swargarohini, Mt. Bandarpoonch, Black Peak, the Ranglana Range, and the Yamunotri Range. The sense of accomplishment after the tough final ascent is truly memorable. Spanning roughly 20 km, the trail makes a gradual climb to the Kedarkantha base camp and then continues with a steep push to the top. Along the way, the route winds through dense oak, rhododendron, and pine forests, passes the frozen waters of Juda Ka Talab, and opens into wide meadows, pristine snowfields, and several crystal-clear mountain streams. Trekkers especially admire this trail for its stunning scenery and panoramic vistas, particularly during the winter season from December to March.
