Kedarnath is a beautiful holy city in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand. The Kedarnath temple is situated in the Garhwal Himalayan range, near the Mandakni River. It is known for its ancient and sacred Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. The Temple is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas (Lord Shiva's shrines) and is very important in Hindu mythology and pilgrimage. According to legend, it was built by the Pandavas from the Mahabharata. Thousands of devotees and tourists visit the temple throughout the summer months, when it is open.
