ISO 17712 is an international standard that specifies the requirments for the classification, acceptance and withdrawal of mechanical freight container seals. It was first published in 2010 and has been revised twice since then, most recently in 2013. The standard is developed and maintained by the International Organization for Standardization, a non-governmental organization that sets voluntary standards for a wide range of products and services.
