The international standard ISO 14001: 2015 defines a criterion for an environmental management system (EMS) which, if executed and maintained helpfully, may reassure an organization that environmental risk is being managed and improved. ISO 14001 applies to any organization despite its size, industry or geographic area. The ISO 14001 standard requires effective and effective demonstration of a systematic approach to ending pollution and having processes in place to manage risks to the environment. Once a policy framework and processes to facilitate the commitment of organizations have been put in place, the Standard then asks an organization to conduct an audit investigate and strengthen the system to confirm that an engagement in constant progress is being met.
