Interventional cardiology is a branch of cardiology that focuses on using catheters to treat cardiac conditions such as congenital heart defects (CHD), coronary artery disease, and aneurysms. The catheter is placed into the femoral artery or another large peripheral artery or vein, and the entire procedure is done through the catheter under fluoroscopy.
