Preschool children of Generation Z in recent years are exposed to tablets and smartphones even before they read and write. They learn to operate gadgets at a very early age without knowing the workings of digital technology (Kaplancali UT and Demirkol Z, 2017)*. This is the reason parents feel the need for teaching skill sets of computing. Also, Educators largely believe it will last a lifetime and this talent pool is required to fill the gap between technical requirements and people qualified for the job. In other words, there are innumerable job opportunities in the future for technologists of various fronts. Supposedly technology is meant to last.
