The UN General Assembly adopted the United Nations Convention to fight against Corruption on 31 October 2003. However, in 2005, it was decided that every year International Anti-Corruption Day will be observed on 9 December. Why International Anti Corruption Day is celebrated? International Anti Corruption Day is observed to make people aware of the disadvantages of corruption and to spread awareness about it to maintain transparency.
