In 2020, state and local governments have been put under immense pressure to track and manage COVID-19 cases and exposure. That?s difficult when most are tethered to old, inflexible, disparate legacy data management infrastructures. A tangle of privacy laws complicates these efforts for state and local governments, however, as does the need to integrate disease control data with economic data to track the resulting fallout as the pandemic spikes in different regions.
