India's First MRNA COVID-19 Vaccine Candidate Approved To Start Phase II, III Trials

The Indian drug regulator, the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI), on Tuesday granted approval for phase II and III clinical trials of the country's first mRNA COVID-19 vaccine candidate ? HGCO19, officials said. The vaccine is being developed by Gennova Biopharmaceuticals in partnership with the department of biotechnology and Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC) under the mission COVID-19 suraksha (protection).
