In Aligarh, Right Wing Fringe Groups Ban Christmas celebrations In Schools

Fringe right-wing groups are threatening to disrupt Christmas and year celebrations in the small-towns of Uttar Pradesh this year. A series of warnings from such groups have come on the heels of an alleged attack on monks holding pre-Christmas celebrations in Madhya Pradesh. In Aligarh, a group known as the Hindu Jagran Manch has issued a warning to Christian schools not to celebrate Christmas, claiming this would be a step towards �forced conversions� of Hindu students. in a letter meant to be sent to the school authorities, the group has demanded that children should neither be asked to bring gifts nor asked to participate in Christmas programmes.
