Improved Daily Living with NDIS Community Nursing Care

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is one of the most remarkable disability support systems in the world. The Australian Government has laid down strict guidelines regarding what they will fund and what will be the eligibility criteria for various supports to ensure that it benefits the right people. Community Nursing Care is one such support funded by the NDIS if it helps the participants to manage conditions directly related to their disability and meet the necessary NDIS funding criteria. It is important to note that the NDIS does not fund any hospital-in-the-home services. But some disability-related health supports cannot be carried out safely without the services of trained and qualified practitioners like nurses and therapists. For example, some participants with higher support needs may require disability-related health supports such as dysphagia supports, continence supports, podiatry supports, respiratory support, bowel care, wound and pressure care support etc.
