Apart from rubber stamps, there are self-inking stamps and pre-inked stamps. Self-inked stamps use water-based ink and pre-inked stamps use oil-based inks. An impression pad and ink cell built into one in pre-inked stamps, and these stamps make impressions for 50,000 times, before it is needed to refill the ink. Pre-inked stamps are usable on porous papers but are not recommended with glossy papers. No ink pads are required for Pre-inked pads and it provides clean impressions without feathering.
