HTML Charsets
In order to display an HTML page accurately, a browser must know which character set is used in a web page. What is Charsets (Character Sets)? ASCII ASCII was the first Charset that defines 128 different alphanumeric characters used on the web. The abbreviation is the �American Standard Code for Information Interchange�. The main drawback of ASCII is, it does not use letters other than English, but still commonly used in mainframe computers.
