In India, there are not many occurrences of HSV or Herpes Simplex Virus, but of late there have been many reports of the infection in young aged women. Mostly the cases are that of HSV 2. It is a viral infection that can be transmitted either orally or sexually and accordingly the virus is classified as HSV 1 and HSV 2. Like any viral infection, the causes, treatment and prevention all depends on the extent of the infection and it can be diagnosed via several tests and procedures.
