The SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) is used to send email messages from email clients. On the other side, the POP (Post Office Protocol) is employed for receiving emails from a web server to an email program. SMTP provides the simplest form of communication between various computers in a particular network. SMTP also provides reliability for outgoing email messages.
