In terms of protection, both polyurethane casters and rubber casters provide excellent protection against floor damage due to the flexibility of the material. In general, the softer the material, the less likely it is to damage the floor. This aspect is a little better due to the difference in rubber hardness. However, rubber can be produced in non-marking materials using alternative fillers such as silica. Non-marking rubber casters are usually brown and will not mark the floor.
