Nj Doctor Urgent Care16 Aug, 2021Health

Diphtheria, tetanus, and whooping cough (pertussis) are bacterial infections that can be life-threatening in severe cases. Diphtheria and whooping cough usually affect the nose and throat. Tetanus is a nerve disease that can lead to a painful tightening of the muscles in the body, especially "locking" the jaw. As per CDC, babies need 3 shots of DTaP to build high immunity against diphtheria, tetanus, and whooping cough. In addition, young children need 2 immunization shots to prevent the health risk from these conditions.
