Select Update & security in the Settings window and click the Windows Security tab from the left-side panel. Under Protection areas, click on Virus & threat protection. Click on Manage settings beneath Virus & threat protection settings. Under the Exclusions section, click on Add or remove exclusions. You will be directed to the Exclusions page. Click the Add an exclusion button to creating an exception in Windows Defender. You will be prompted to define your exclusion by File, Folder, File type, or Process.
