How to Copyright a computer program/software in India?

Like many other transactions, software contracts are regulated as expressed in the Indian Contract Act5 by the common law principal. The sale or assignment/license may be the essence of the contract. The Selling of Goods Act, 1930 would have significance in the development and execution of the sale contract if the computer programme is treated as a 'product'. Section 2(7) of the Sale of Goods Act, 1930, describes 'good' as any form of movable property other than actionable claims and cash, including stocks and shares, cultivation, grass crops.
