IMAP is used by email clients and web-based email applications to retrieve email messages from the mail server. To configure Gmail IMAP server settings, carry out the simple steps below. Step 1: First, enable the IMAP on your Gmail account to access the IMAP email server settings. Step 2: To enable IMAP in Gmail, open your web browser, and access your email server page. Step 3: Enter your Gmail address and password to log in to your Gmail account. Step 4: Click on the Settings icon displayed on the top-right corner. Step 5: Select the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab on the displayed window and select Enable IMAP for all mail in the IMAP Access column. Step 6: Click Save changes and log out from your Gmail account.
