The Energy Conservation Act, 1992 gave birth to the BEE or the ?Bureau of Energy Efficiency?. The main objective of BEE is to ensure that the electrical appliances in India comply with the optimum standards of energy efficiency and are economical. Henceforth, the Bureau of Energy Efficiency brought forward the star labelling scheme in order to record and regulate the usage of energy by the electrical appliances. Based on this scheme, the electrical appliances are rated on their energy usage and how effectively it reduces the expenses.
