When a person has chlamydia, they pass it on to their partner through vaginal, anal, or oral sex. Or, if a person with chlamydia shares sex toys with another person, infection can occur. Chlamydia is a sexually transmitted infection (STI) that is spread through unprotected sex (sex without a condom). It is treated with antibiotics. If left untreated, it can cause serious health problems.
