How can I check the authenticity of any NGO in India?

I was touched by their efforts and felt good about my donation towards the mid-day meal scheme through Annamrita. They even invited me to look at their kitchen for information on their cooking, storage, dispatch, and delivery process. But that's for another day! They also showed me their NGO registration number, tax exemption certificate, and annual report to check for authenticity.
