How and When to Clean a Ceiling Fan

The outdoor ceiling fan should be cleaned at least once a season and preferably twice. The easiest way to clean it is to take it down and bring it inside. If you have an outdoor ceiling fan with a light fixture, first turn off the power to the light at the breaker box. Then unscrew the light globe and set it aside. You may need a ladder or step stool to reach the blades of the fan. If so, be very careful not to fall!
