Pickleball originated in the mid-1960s on Bainbridge Island, Washington, when three friends devised a game using ping pong paddles, a whiffle ball, and a badminton net. They named it after a family dog, Pickles. This simple, fun game has since grown into a global phenomenon, uniting people of all ages and backgrounds.
