Heavy rain in Himachal, red alert issued in 10 districts including Shimla

Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh was the worst affected by heavy rains on Tuesday. The Beas river was in spate. Flood-like conditions arose in Karsog, Dharampur, Pandoh and Thunag. Water entered villages and markets. Houses and roads were damaged. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for many parts of the state. Water entered residential areas due to the breach in the drain in Megli village of Karsog. Eight houses were damaged. About two dozen vehicles drowned or were washed away. In Pandoh, the overflowing drain flooded the settlements.
