Petroleum Coke (Petcoke): Process Engineering with Computer Aided Design

Anjali Pawar29 Nov, 2021Business

Petroleum coke is a byproduct of petroleum refining that is used to make electrodes for carbon anodes in the aluminium sector, graphite electrodes for steel manufacture, fuel for solid fuel boilers that generate electricity, and cement. Petroleum coke ("petcoke") is a by-product of crude oil refining that is often generated in Canada, especially from heavy crudes. While some types of petcoke are valuable for steel production or other specialty applications, it is frequently hoarded as a waste product in enormous amounts.
