Government bans export of onions

With the immediate effect on Monday government banned the export of all varieties of onions, a move aimed at increasing availability and checking the price of the commodity in the domestic market. The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) said in a notification that �The export of all varieties of onions is prohibited with immediate effect.�
