Gen 1, 2, and 3 mags are all compatible up to Gen 3 (for that respective model) as long as the magazine release is set up in the proper (standard) configuration. Glock?s Gen 4 magazines will work with earlier generations (of the same model). However, according to Glock, its Gen 5 magazines will not function with earlier generation Glock pistols.
